Questions to ask.
Is laparoscopic surgery suitable for me?
It depends on your condition, medical history and the surgeon’s assessment. Ask your surgeon to explain why a particular approach is recommended.
Why is a pre-anaesthetic check needed?
It helps the anaesthetist understand your health, medicines and any allergies so that anaesthesia can be planned as safely as possible.
Should I stop any medicines before surgery?
Some medicines, such as blood thinners, may need to be adjusted — but only on your doctor’s instruction. Bring a complete medicine list to your consultation.
Is there a blood bank at the hospital?
There is no on-site blood bank. If a procedure may need blood, your doctor will explain the arrangements in advance.
